Dr. Mandhane has developed the Sleep, Learning, Education and the Environment (SLEEP-E) project to study the role of sleep disordered breathing in cognitive growth and development. The children in this group will be invited to participate in a sleep study. The development of the Sleep questionnaires followed a similar course as the general cohort. The vanguard cohort in Edmonton assited in refining the questionnaires and then these were translated into and electronic data capture form.

Study members who volunteer for the CHILD Study will be given an opportunity to participate in specialized assessments of lung inflammation and lung function. As well, during the first year of life your child will be closely monitored for cold and flu-like symptoms.
